After a successful edition that was held in Buenos Aires, the international seminar “MEDICOS DIGITALES 2020” arrived to Mexico for the first time on October 26, 2019. The event is a leading conference in “Digital Health” that has been taking place in Argentina for the past four years.
Mainly targeted to physicians, Médicos Digitales 2020 took place in Garage Cluster, Polanco, MXDF. Its program involved different specialists that shared their experiences and visions regarding the challenges when implementing Digital Medicine, including its legal aspects, Telemedicine and the use of Social Networks for Medical Professionals. The main objective of the event was to share practical tools of Digital Medicine with Health Professionals so that they learned how to apply them in their medical practice.

Some of the specialists that participated, were Santiago Troncar, CEO of FutureDocs Latin America, who talked about Global and Local Trends in Digital Medicine, accompanied by Dr. Linda García Hildalgo, who at the time was President of the Mexican Academy of Dermatology and Luis Royero Meneses, MD, Chapter Leader HackingHealth CDMX.
During the presentation, Dr. Linda García Hidalgo shared her vision regarding Digital Medicine: “Technology and the advances that are taking place at the present time, can become very useful tools and we are going to need all these tools, we cannot stay behind ”. In addition to this, she added: “Nowadays patients are very involved with technology, it’s common for them to search health information in unreliable internet websites and to start inadequate treatments“.
Bearing in mind Linda Garcia Hidalgo’s observation, Santiago Troncar explained that, considering patients will never stop reading and searching for health information, this situation “is an opportunity for the medical community to create good content to guide them in their search”.

Following this idea, Azenet Folch, specialist in Digital Marketing, talked about the importance of Social Networks as tools for physicians to share information. Mauricio Mondragón clarified every doubt regarding legal aspects and Nicolás Amiano, ConsultorioMOVIL’s Operations Director, offered a practical guide for digitizing medical practice.
